Classic Kerala (7 Days)

Kochi | Munnar | Thekkady | Alleppey | Kochi |

Day 01: Arrive Kochi
Kathakali DanceUpon arrival you will be welcomed by our representative & transferred to HOTEL. Kochi - formerly known as Cochin in the coastal state of Kerala. With a natural harbor that has always been one of the finest in the world. Overnight at Kochi.

Day 02: Kochi - MUNNAR (04 hrs )
Today drive to Munnar - Kerala’s principle tea growing area, driving uphill though cardamom plantations and undulating tea fields. This is a great opportunity to take some photos of a unique landscape, and hopefully see the tea pickers at work. On arrival check in. This afternoon you will have time to enjoy the cool air of the hills and take a guided walk through the plantations. Overnight at Munnar.

Day 03: Munnar Tour
After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Munnar, visit Pothamedu - is known for its plantation business apart from trekking and hiking options amidst sylvan surroundings, Devikulam - is an idyllic hill station near Munnar, Pallivasal - is home to the first hydropower project in Kerala, Attukal - has several panoramic waterfalls and offers trekking options, Nyayamakad - is again a well-known picnic spot around Munnar, Mettupetty - has an artificial lake built by a small hydroelectric project & Rajamala - is known as the natural habitat of endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Later return to hotel. Evening is free to relax. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 04: Munnar - Thekkady (03 hrs)
Kappad BeachAfter Breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Thekkady, today game viewing is on board boats, which carry you along convoluted waterways and afford sightings of elephant, bison, deer and occasionally tiger. This tropical habitat makes it one of the premiere reserves of southern India with all manner of flora and fauna in abundance. Return for breakfast, later visit spice plantation where you can learn about pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla among many other spices and plants. Overnight at Thekkady.

Day 05: Thekkady – Alleppey (04 hrs)
After breakfast checkout from hotel and  proceed to  Alleppey, Arrive & check-in a house boat, to Alleppey, check in to Houseboat, backwater cruise through the Paddy fields, coconut lagoons, Narrow canals, Coir villages etc. Overnight stay.

Day 06: Alleppey – Kochi (02 hrs) & Kochi Tour
Morning, Kochi tour begins from “The Dutch Palace” also known as Mattancherry Palace, built by Portuguese in 1555, which is famous for its murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana and the puranic legends. Adjacent to the palace is the Jewish Synagogue built in 1568. Also visit the St. Francis Church, established by the Portuguese Franciscan friars in 1503. Vasco Da Gama was buried in the courtyard of this European church built in India. The tour also includes a visit to the seaside where one can still see the, nearly a century old Chinese fishing nets which are still in use. Evening witness a Kathakali, a traditional dance form depicting Indian epics (Ramayana and Mahabharata). The dancers are dressed in very colorful and elaborate costumes. Their faces are painted to depict various characters of these epics. This dance has a lot of facial expressions and brisk, yet articulate body movements. Overnight at Kochi.

Day 07: Departure
After breakfast checkout from hotel and transfer to Kochi airport for onward destination.
